Metrorail restores services after Mountain View crash
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Trains will be running between Mountain View and Pretoria North for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday.
Three people died and over 600 people were left injured when two trains collided at the Wolmerton train station in Mountain View earlier in January.
Preliminary investigates found that there was a communication breakdown between train control officers and train drivers.
Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng says necessary tests and investigations have been concluded.
"From this afternoon, peak period trains will be passing through that area."

Mafokeng says the board of inquiry, set up to investigate the crash, is still busy with its work.
"We are awaiting the full investigation to take place so that we can get to the bottom of all the issues. However, we acknowledge what has been the preliminary findings which pointed out to human error as a result of the manual authorisation that we used in that particular area and remember manual authorisation is a result of theft and critical infrastructure component that we experienced."
Mofokeng says the drivers involved in the crash are still receiving medical attention and have not returned to work.
