Motshekga: Everything done to prevent exam leaks
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has assured pupils, parents, and teachers that the department has done extensive work to combat the leaking of matric exam papers.

She was speaking in Midrand on Wednesday, on the first day of the National Senior Certificate examinations.
Just over 800 0000 matriculants are writing the exams, the highest number since 1994.
"We have done all we could possibly do so if they happen it could be very sad. We really went back, we had auditing teams traveling to provinces to see if there are no risks, they came back with a report to say they think provinces have placed all the necessary measures to protect the papers, so we hope it won't happen again," said Motshekga
In 2020, the mathematics and physics papers were leaked, however, a report by the National Investigations Task Team, a unit of the Basic Education Department, said the leaking of the papers did not compromise the entire examination.
The papers were leaked days before the start of the examination in November 2020.
