On Monday, eleven children from Nelson Ngobeni Primary School were hospitalised and two killed.
Police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says while the preliminary post-mortem results have been concluded it cannot be disclosed as investigations are ongoing.
Hlathi says the eleven other pupils also suffered the same symptoms.

“The sequence of events indicates that police were firstly informed of a child who was declared dead and eleven others admitted, on Monday evening. Upon arrival at the hospital, the police conducted preliminary interviews to establish what had transpired, only to be informed that a second learner had also died from similar circumstances at a clinic nearby, hence the inquest docket."
Hlathi says there is more than one investigation into the matter.
"There are many investigations that are yet to unfold regarding this issue. We still have to take some samples to forensic labs to be analysed o get what led to the death and others being hospitalised.
"We are requesting space and privacy in order to effectively investigate this sensitive matter."
