Mpumalanga's 'most wanted' set to appear in court

Authorities in Mpumalanga have arrested one of the most wanted suspects in the province.
The man was nabbed on Friday.
Provincial police spokesperson Selvy Bokaba says the man was wanted on numerous charges, including 14 counts of murder.
“The man, aged 21, was already in the police cells in Gauteng after being arrested in Pretoria for unlawful possession of firearms with ammunition last week.
“The cases include amongst others, 14 counts of murder, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, arson, burglaries, pointing with a firearm, kidnapping, malicious damage to property and rape."

Bokaba says the majority of the crimes were committed in Bushbuckridge, Calcutta, as well as Kanyamazane.
“One of the murder cases involves a pregnant woman from Marite, who was sadly shot and killed and her body dumped into the Crocodile River at Kanyamazane.”
Her body was found in August 2021.
“The suspect is linked to the said cases and is expected to appear before the Bushbuckridge, Mkhuhlu and Kanyamazane Magistrate's Court respectively between Monday and Wednesday,” adds Bokaba.
