Pet rescue team needs help to find missing rescue dog, Jett

Healthy Hound Missing Pet Search Team is calling for help to locate Jett, a search and rescue dog that was trapped in a manhole while tracking for another search and rescue dog, Jack Russell.

It's understood Jett fell down the manhole on Sunday while in search of Jack Russell in Kilner Park, Pretoria.
Various organisations and volunteers, including Missing Animals in Benoni, joined the search team on Monday.
Julie Wolfaardt from Missing Animals in Benoni has called on volunteers to help with donations of GoPros or specialised cameras which can be connected to an app that are waterproof, 60m or longer ropes, and crowbars.
"We have a team out in Kilner Park to look for the dog and they need assistance like people who can stand along the route by the stormwater drainage, and they also need people with long ropes to help find this dog because this dog has helped to find hundreds of missing animals,” he says.
“We can't say if he is alive or not, because this dog is an amazing dog, maybe the water washed him out, so we can't find this dog now; we are trying to open all the manholes on the routes, that's why we need long ropes," says Wolfaardt.
