Ramaphosa: Chris Hani was a disciplined cadre
Updated | By Neo Motloung
African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has described Chris Hani as one of the most admired leaders in the fight for freedom.
The president was speaking at the 28th commemoration of Hani’s death in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg.
Hani was assassinated outside his home on April 10, 1993.
Ramaphosa said Hani was loved by many.
"Without a doubt one of the most extraordinary of our revolution comrades.
"Comrade Chris Hani was one those comrades you liked immediately as you meet him, that is what happened when I met him.”
Ramaphosa described the late struggle icon as “warm and original among his peers”.
"He was a person of total integrity and a person of high sense of humour, of absolute sincerity. A person in whose conduct not one stain could be found.
"He constituted, through his values, what can be called a truly model revolutionary, but he was also an outstanding courageous solder and a disciplined cadre," said the ANC president.
