The body of an unknown person has been found along the banks of Olifants river in Polokwane, also known as the Lepelle river.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo says the remains were discovered by a community member who had been fishing in the area on Sunday.
The discovery comes after a twelve-year-old boy, Sendfort Makgolane, was allegedly swept away in the river on December 22.

Mojapelo says search and rescue services have been conducting searches along the banks of the same river since the boy had been reported missing.
“The incident was reported to the police on the same day and the search and rescue operation was activated.”
He adds that a DNA examination will be conducted to determine the identity of the human remains that have been found.
