SAAF Helicopter crashes in Worcester

The South African Air Force helicopter crash landed on the Worcester side of the Hugenot Tunnel.
The accident happened at about 13:50 on Sunday.
The crew was sent on a mission to assist a training team in the area of Touwsriver (near Worcester in the Western Cape. The team was on their way back to Air Force Base Ysterplaat when the accident happened.
The crew consisted of the pilot, co-pilot, a flight engineer and four aircraft technicians and mechanics. There were no fatalities or serious injuries, but the pilot was taken by ambulance to 2 Military Hospital in Cape Town.
A team of aircraft accident investigators and a contingent of security were dispatched to the site of the accident to secure the wreckage and start with an investigation.
