SABC report ‘utter hogwash’ - Faith Muthambi
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Former communications minister Faith Muthambi has hit back at report by veteran journalist Joe Thloloe which said she had undue influence in the SABC newsroom.
Muthambi may face dismissal as a Member of Parliament, in the light of the final report of a Commission of Inquiry into Editorial Interference at the SABC - which found she had abused her power to get coverage for specific stories concerning private interests.
The report into editorial interference between 2012 and 2017 at the public broadcaster was released on Monday.

The report detailed how senior officials and high-ranking politicians abused their power and terrorised staff - adding that Muthambi allegedly also insulted and intimidated SABC crew members.
In a strongly-worded statement, Muthambhi said Thloloe failed to adhere to basic principles of natural justice, including fairness and affording the affected parties the right of reply.
She believes she should have been contacted before the release of the report to afford her a chance to state her side of the story.
Muthambi said being at the same place and time as former controversial SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng was her only mistake.
