‘She made me do it’, claims Mampintsha
Kwaito star Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo claimed his girlfriend Bongekile 'Babes Wodumo' Simelane has violent tendencies when under the influence of alcohol.
Mampintsha was speaking outside the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He granted R 2000 bail at the after he was arrested earlier on Tuesday on a charge of assault.
"Babes has an alcohol problem and she fights with everyone when she’s drunk," Mampintsha told the media in Zulu.

Mampintsha said he was merely defending himself, when he was filmed on Instagram slapping Simelane.
"On that night Babes came home at around midnight and beat me up with a Gucci sandal on my lips and the sandal is as hard as a tyre.
“I wanted to go and wash the blood off my lip but she kept on hitting me, there were children and housekeepers in the house while the altercation took place."
Mampintsha said the relationship is now a thing of the past.
He told one of incident where Simelane allegedly hit him with a stick on his legs until he called her family for help.
"If Babes would stop drinking alcohol she would be fine.”

Mampintsha has opened a counter case of assault against Babes.
