Snoozing hijacking suspect nabbed outside Gqeberha nightclub

Gqeberha police have arrested a man found sleeping at the back of a suspected hijacked vehicle.

Spokesperson Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a private security company alerted police about a suspicious car parked outside a nightclub in the CBD in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
She says the vehicle was reported as hijacked at SAPS Walmer in August.
Janse van Rensburg says members waited for the driver to return, and not long after, two men approached the car.
She says both suspects, including the man sleeping in the back, were arrested and charged with possession of a suspected hijacked vehicle.
The car was impounded for further investigation.
Police say the allegation that the suspects, aged between 25 and 27, are also linked to last week's assassination of the Chairperson of the Norwich Long Distance Taxi Association, is under investigation.
Ryno Plaatjies, 51, was gunned down outside a Primary School in Booysens Park moments after dropping off his daughter, who is a student teacher.
