Some Joburg residents still without water

Johannesburg Water says it is closely monitoring the recovery of the Linden 1 and Blairgowrie reservoirs, as they remain areas of concern.
Several areas have been struggling with erratic water supply since Rand Water's Eikenhof pumping station was affected by two outages due to City Power maintenance work.
Some residents in Johannesburg have had to go without water for days.
Affected areas include Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, Joburg South, and Central.
In a statement, Johannesburg Water said the Linden 1 and Blairgowrie reservoirs are sitting at the highest point of the supply zone, meaning they need excess pressure to boost water up to the two points.
"Johannesburg Water, in collaboration with the bulk supplier, have reconfigured the system to get additional capacity into the Waterval system. However, all reservoirs supplied from this system are taking long to recover due to high demand resulting from hot weather conditions,” the statement said.
Joburg Water says its technical team continues to provide water trucks to affected areas.
