Suspect nabbed for smuggling illicit skin lightening creams and medication

A suspect has been arrested at the Groblersbrug Port of Entry for smuggling illicit creams and tablets worth millions of rands into South Africa.
Limpopo polices spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says the 27-year-old was caught driving a truck and had already crossed the border from Botswana into the country.
"And soon thereafter, he was directed towards the searching bay for investigation," adds Ngoepe.

During the search, boxes of Epiderm skin lightening creams and Cyproheptadine pills were found hidden inside the empty diesel tanks loaded at the back of the truck," Ngoepe says.
Police seized 4500 × 15g tubes of Epiderm creams and 80000 × Cyproheptadine medicines with an estimated value of R2.4 million.
He adds that investigations are continuing.
The suspect will appear at the Phalala Magistrate's Court soon.
