Three killed in Nasrec light aircraft crash

Three people have been killed after the light aircraft they were travelling in crashed in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg.

The aircraft crashed on Sunday morning.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says the cause of the crash is not yet known.
"Air traffic control confirmed that there were only three people on board the aircraft. Sadly they have all lost their lives.
In a statement the Civial Aciation Auathority says a preliminary report will be issued out 30 days from the day of the accident.
“The Accident and Incident Investigations Division (AIID) has been informed of an aircraft accident occurrence on Sun, 15 January 2023 at 0900 local time. The accident occurred at Nasrec next to FNB stadium.
"The aircraft departed from Grand Central Airport in the Gauteng province on a training flight with the intention to land back at the same Airport. Onboard the aircraft were two occupants, who both sustained fatal injuries.
"The aircraft itself sustained substantial damage. The Accident was reported by the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC).”
