Gauteng Education spokesperson, Steve Mabona says an eight-year-old girl from the Selang Primary School was electrocuted at home, after touching an electric cable last week.
He says in the second incident, a 12-year-old boy from Lethabo Phalane Primary School died in Hammanskraal.
"Sadly, the diabetic boy learner allegedly experienced complications on Tuesday, 21 April 2020 at home, and subsequently was rushed to a local hospital and succumbed to his chronic ailment on Thursday, 23 April 2020," says Mabona.
HE adds the incident is being investigated.
Mabona says the MEC of Education, Panyaza Lesufi, has conveyed his sincere condolences to both families and the school community.
