Two people killed in Mpumalanga floods

A rescue worker drowned when he attempted to rescue a woman trapped in a taxi in Kwaggafontein, Mpumalanga.
Police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says emergency services were called out when a taxi tried to cross a flooded bridge.
"One of the fire and rescue workers managed to save the driver of the taxi. When he tried to save the female passenger in the taxi he was trapped under the water and swept away," says Hlathi.
Hlathi says the taxi was also swept away.
"When lost the female passenger, but the driver was saved," says Hlathi.
