Xander Bylsma convicted of Stella High murders

The North West High Court in Mmabatho has found Xander Bylsma guilty of the murder of two Hoërskool Stella pupils.

The bodies of 17-year old Sharnelle Hough, who was Bylsma’s ex-girlfriend and his 16-year old cousin Marna Engelbrecht were found hanged from a bannister in the school residence in May 2018.
Bylsma was 19-years-old at the time of the murders.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in North West Thembeka Mbadu says Bylsma was found guilty on all charges on Monday.
“The information received from the prosecutor is that the accused was found guilty on all charges.”
Bylsma will be sentenced after the presentation of a pre-sentence report on Tuesday.
