Bafana Bafana drawn against Tunisia for next year's Afcon

South Africa landed in Group E during Thursday evening’s draw in Abidjan. 

With South African Football Association President Danny Jordaan in attendance, coach Hugo Broos’ charges were drawn in Group E and will fight it out with Tunisia, Mali and Namibia in the 34th edition of the event.

Broos will have watched the draw from Johannesburg, as his team is in camp ahead of two international friendly matches against Eswatini and Côte d’Ivoire in the coming days.

The 1996 Africa Cup of Nations champions host Eswatini at FNB Stadium on Friday, and then travel to West Africa to face next year’s Afcon hosts Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana was recently held to a goalless draw by Namibia during an international friendly match played at Orlando Stadium in September.
