Acclaimed South African coach Pitso Mosimane has joined United Arab Emirates giants Al Wahda in Abu Dhabi as head coach.
His management team announced the move on Monday.
Mosimane is the most successful African coach in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions.
After a successful stint at Mamelodi Sundowns, Mosimane joined the Egyptian club Al Ahly, where he won the Super Cup, an annual match between the winners of the Champions League and the second-tier Confederation Cup.
Mosimane later left the club to join Saudi Arabian second-division side Al Ahli Saudi, helping the club’s promotion to the top flight.
Al Wahda F.C was founded in 1984 and has won four UAE Pro League titles, with the last league title in the 2009/2010 season.
"This exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone in Coach Pitso Mosimane's illustrious career and represents a new chapter in his journey. Known for their exceptional leadership, tactical prowess, and ability to inspire players, Coach Pitso and his Technical Team are excited for this new venture and bring success to Al Wahda F.C." his management said in a statement.
Mosimane will be joined by his technical team consisting of Maahier Davids, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba, Kyle Solomon, and goalkeeping coach Hamad Alyami.
"I am honoured to join Al Wahda F.C. as their Head Coach. We are impressed by the club's vision, ambition, and commitment to excellence and together with the talented players and the dedicated staff, we will strive to achieve greatness," said Mosimane.
