The most anticipated Formula One race of the season is finally upon us, and the teams and fans are gearing up for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix this Sunday.

The track at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida is brand new and looks set to provide some exciting racing with 19 corners, three straights and two core overtaking zones.

The question is how will the drivers use this to their advantage, having never driven the track before? Our Track This panel seem very split on the topic.

Racing driver Tasmin Pepper thinks 27-year-old Carlos Sainz’ contract extension should help going into this weekend: “I feel like they gave him the contract extension to calm him down a little bit and not have all this pressure on his shoulders.”

Fellow panelist and racing driver Tschops Sipuka thinks Mercedes is quite far away from being competitive. “I can give you a hunch here, they are going to turn around that car in the next six months.”

Motorsport analyst and TopGear SA Director, Avon Middleton believes the Miami GP is one for Red Bull: “I think Perez has gotten to grips with that car now, I think he is driving really well, so number one for Sergio.”
