Updated | By JacPod
After a sterling performance in Canada, the Track This podcast panel is eager to see the major upgrades Mercedes have planned for Silverstone.
If these upgrades don’t work it’s going to be devastating for Mercedes.- Tschops Sipuka
Silverstone,
the home of both Lewis Hamilton and George Russel, is shaping up to be a
make-or-break moment for the Mercedes team and their W13.
Speaking to several
news publications, Mercedes’ Trackside Engineering Director, Andrew Shovlin,
has confirmed that the team will bring a major visible upgrade to the floor as
well as the rear and front wing.
Track This
podcast host and motorsport commentator Kriya Gangiah is full of anticipation: “This is a moment for
Mercedes, either we are going to see them perform unbelievably well, or they
are going to going to crash and burn.”
This
upgrade is critical to the W13 and its performance over the weekend. Track This Panelist
and racing driver Tschops Sipuka says it really is make or break time: “If these upgrades don’t work it’s going
to be devastating for Mercedes.”
He is also
concerned about the safety of the driver: "It’s going to be interesting to see
in some of the high-speed corners if the cars are porpoising, because that can
be very dangerous.”
Do you think these upgrades are going to give the Mercedes team the advantage they have been looking for? Take a listen to the full podcast below and let the team know on the Track This social media channels.
