England captain Wayne Rooney and coach Roy Hodgson have made an impassioned plea to England football fans to behave themselves following a bad spate of hooliganism at the weekend.
Following a weekend of ugly violence between Russian and English football fans in Marseilles, England captain Wayne Rooney and coach Roy Hodgson have issued a plea to English fans to behave.
Football controlling body Uefa, under whose control the Euro' 2016 tournament falls, has threatened to disqualify England and Russia from the continental tournament if there is any further violence by fans.
It has begun disciplinary proceedings against Russia - but not England - after what it labelled "totally unacceptable" scenes at Saturday's England-Russia game, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Charges have been brought against Russia for crowd disturbances, racist behaviour, and setting off fireworks, Uefa confirmed.
