Inspiring - Child with cerebral palsy finishes triathlon
Updated | By Trevor Cramer
When the finish line was near and the cheering fans loud, Bailey Matthews, an eight-year-old born with cerebral palsy, let his walker go. And then....
And then -- he ran.
The video footage went viral last year with more than 800,000 views.and Bailey was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2015.
Matthews, who was diagnosed at 18 months old with the disease, crossed the finish line at the Castle Howard Triathlon last year with the crowd excitedly cheering him on.
Bailey has also created his own triathlon for kids with disabilities just like him called the Be More Bailey Triathlon.
The inaugural Be More Bailey Triathlon will be held on July the 17th in Derby in the UK and will challenge kids to swim for 50 metres, bike for 2.5 km's and finish the race by running for 750 metres.
Next time we sit and complain about our lot in life, the cards we have been dealt, or the seemingly huge hurdles in our path, let little Bailey Matthews' story inspire us to pick ourselves up again and again and confront the challenges.
