Kevin Anderson advances to US Open semi-final

South African 28th seed Kevin Anderson defeated 17th-seeded American Sam Querrey 7-6 (7/5), 6-7 (9/11), 6-3, 7-6 (9/7) to reach the US Open semi-finals on Tuesday.
Anderson, the US Open's first South African semi-finalist since Cliff Drysdale in 1965, will meet Spanish 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta on Friday for a place in Sunday's final.
He is the first South African since Wayne Ferreira in 2003 to reach the last four of a Grand Slam tournament.
