Lions announce squad for Australia tour, Kriel out injured

Following their 24-21 victory over the Jaguares in Johannesburg on Friday, the Lions have announced their 27-man squad for their three-match tour of Australia.

The Lions have gone for 16 forwards and 11 backs for their tour which begins with a trip to Perth to take on the Western Force on April 29. Next on their scheduled is an assignment against the Rebels on May 6 in Melbourne. The Brumbies will lie in wait in Canberra on May 12 in the last match of the tour for the Lions.


Flank Jaco Kriel will miss the tour as he picked up a knee injury in the game against the Jaguares, and will stay in South Africa for rehabilitation which is expected to take three weeks.
