Mbalula can't sidestep FIFA bribery allegations
Updated | By Trevor Cramer
Sports Minister Filile Mbalula is set to table a response from his department on Thursday regarding match-fixing allegations prior to the 2010 World Cup. But he may find it impossible to sidestep the latest serious bribery allegations levelled at the country.

The Press Coneference would initially have dealt with the allegations of match-fixing prior to the 2010 World Cup and the suspension of four SAFA officials.
But it is unlikely the Minister will be able to sidestep the latest serious allegations which surfaced yesterday in which FIFA openly accused South Africa of paying a 10 million US Dollar bribe to secure votes for the 2010 World Cup.
Mbalula and 2010 Local Organising Committee head Danny Jordaan had more than once previously denied that the country paid a bribe and claimed it was an agreed contribution to support the "African diaspora" in the Caribbean.
