Messages pour in for Sundowns
Updated | By Trevor Cramer
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and all social media platforms have been flooded with good wishes for Mamelodi Sundowns, who captured the CAF African Champions League title in Alexandria, Egypt last night.

Every element of South African society, from politicians, to fellow football clubs, to celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate the newly-crowned CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
Masadawana scooped Africa's biggest club football prize in Alexandria, Egypt, last night, despite losing 1-nil to Zamalek in and emotion-charged second leg final. The the work was done courtesy of a 3-nil victory at home last week.
Sundowns provided South African soccer with it's greatest night in 20 years when captain Hlompo Kekana hoisted the CAF Champions League trophy aloft in a virtually deserted Borg El Arab Stadium, with only pockets of Sundowns supporters remaining behind.
The last time a South African soccer team won a major competition was back in 1996, the year Bafana Bafana won the African Cup of Nations...That was just a year after Orlando Pirates beat ASEC Mimosa in the selfsame Champions League final.
The Tshwane club have now also qualified for the ludicrous World Club Championship, where they could face the likes of Real Madrid in Japan...
