No players approached us - SARPA
Updated | By Trevor Cramer
In a statement issued today, the rugby players’ organisation say they have had numerous engagements with the South African Rugby Union (SARU) regarding their strategic transformation plan and continues to keep a close eye on their efforts to transform the game.
“At our executive committee meeting held in April this year, attended by a well-represented group of players including representatives from the National Sevens Women’s team, a large part of our agenda was dedicated to this topic,” said Nyaniso Sam, the players’ organisation spokesperson.
”A comprehensive presentation was made by SARU to players on this matter, which initiated constructive interaction and ultimately an understanding of SARU’s plans going forward by our members.
“Although not having been approached by any of our members relating to transformation matters, we as the players’ organisation continue to monitor SARU’s plans and engage with them on a regular basis.”
