Pirates snatch late winner against Chilli Boys

Orlando Pirates scored a late winner to snatch a 1-0 win against Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
The winner came courtesy of a first goal of the season for Fortune Makaringe, who scored in the 86th minute.
By that time the visitors were down to ten men for almost a whole half after Sandile Mthethwa was shown a red card for hitting Deon Hotto with an elbow just before half time.
The three points moves the Buccaneers up to third place on the log.
Despite the loss, Chippa United’s Isaac Nhlapo walked away with the man-of-the-match trophy.
“We knew what they were going to do and it was tough. We tried but it was one of those days.”
Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer praised the combination of Mntambo and Makaringe who snatched the late winner.
“The red card was very deep and we know it is not easy then. You can score and if you score earlier, then it’s an easy game for us.
“You score in the last minute then you have to wait but I am happy about Fortune because he had a good performance today, he works very good with the ball and he gets his salary today for his goal.
“Important is always you believe in the win and you did this and got three points for this.”
