Rain has last say in SA-India T20
Updated | By ANA
The third T20 International between South Africa and India was abandoned without a ball bowled as the Proteas claimed a 2-0 series win at Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, in India on Thursday.
Poor drainage was the reason behind the poor condition of the playing surface. A moderate downpour ended over two hours before the scheduled start of play, but groundstaff were unable to dry the field enough to make any play possible on the day. Interestingly, Eden Gardens is also the venue scheduled to host the World T20 final in March next year.
South Africa were hoping to secure a 3-0 whitewash after winning the first two encounters against the hosts.
The first One Day International is scheduled for Sunday in Kanpur.
