Rain was the winner on day two of second Test match between Australia and South Africa at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Sunday.

No play was possible as persistent rain fell throughout the day, prompting the
umpires to call the day off at 14h00 local time.
The action-packed first day, where 15 wickets
fell, means there is still plenty of time left in the match to enforce a result,
with forecasts for the remaining days showing clearer weather and higher
temperatures.
Australia were bowled out for 85 on the opening
day with Vernon Philander (5/21) and Kyle Abbott (3/41) leading a stellar attack
with the ball. Hashim Amla top-scored with 47 for the Proteas, after a
determined opening stand of 43 between openers Stephen Cook (23) and Dean Elgar
(17).
Temba Bavuma (38 not out) and Quinton de Kock (28 not out) will resume the
Proteas’ innings on 171/5 with a first-innings lead of 86.
The Proteas will be looking to build an imposing
first-innings lead with Vernon Philander and the tail still to bat, all of whom
are more than capable with the bat.
Play will start at 10h00 on Monday to make up for the lost time.
