Ramathuba: Bafana Bafana will make history against Lesotho
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba says the province is ready to host the 2026 World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Lesotho on Friday evening.

Coach Hugo Broos’ charges resume the World Cup qualifiers when they host Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday. A few days later, they will travel to Côte d’Ivoire by charter to face Benin in the second qualifier.
"Those who have not bought the tickets, please go buy your tickets at the last minute," Ramathuba advised fans on Thursday.
"Tomorrow [Friday], let’s all come in our numbers; our boys need our support. They are ready, we have spoken to them, they are excited and we also want to make history."
Premier and her provincial executive met the national team at the Ranch Hotel on Thursday to wish them luck.
Broos admitted earlier in the week that Bafana Bafana would have to be at their best against their neighbours.
“Lesotho is a team that fights for each other. They fight for each other, they fight for each meter and every ball, and they are playing against South Africa. So, I think they will try to do something more against South Africa and against other teams. So again, it will be a tough game.”
