Rio 2016 - Dutch cyclist Van Vleuten in horror crash

Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten sustained multiple fractures to her spine and is to remain in hospital after crashing Sunday during the women's Olympic road race.

Van Vleuten was leading on a very fast, slippery decent on the Vista Chinesa, when she went tumbling on the final corner.
Her bike flew in the air and she remained motionless on the edge of the pavement.
Teammate Anna van der Breggen went on to win the gold medal.
Dutch team officials have confirmed that she is in a stable condition and was conscious when she was loaded into an ambulance.
