Sharks vs Bulls Currie Cup game called off
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The Currie Cup match between the Sharks and the Bulls has been called off due to the devastating floods in KwaZulu-Natal.
The game was scheduled to take place at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday.
SA Rugby confirmed on Wednesday that the two teams agreed to cancel the game in respect of the KZN communities facing disaster.
The devastating floods have wreaked havoc in and around Durban leading to the death of at least 306 people.
The roads and hillsides have been washed away and some homes have been destroyed.
SA Rugby says as there was no alternative option to reschedule the match, the result will be declared a draw and the log points will be shared.
Both teams are in the top four on the log and each team will be awarded two log points.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has since visited the area on Wednesday and assured that National Treasury would be rallied for more relief funds while the government has officially declared the province a disaster area.
