Fikile Mbalula, the Minister of Sport and Recreation, was one of the dignitaries at the event.

The award recognizes a formidable woman who is breaking barriers and making strides in the business of sport as administrator, having dedicated her life to the development and success of South African sport.

Kambarami, previously the marketing and events-manager of the Titans, was promoted to the position of chief operating officer of the franchise in 2014.

“The award is an endorsement of Patricia’s excellence as administrator and her ability to motivate and encourage her team to continuously pursue higher standards,” said Jacques Faul, chief executive officer of the Titans.

“We at the Titans family are delighted about the achievement. We wish to congratulate her on this landmark-feat, which is well-deserved,” Faul added.

“One of the hallmarks of her career has been her focus and her commitment to service delivery that exceeds expectations,” he added.

In 2003, Kambarami worked as venue assistant for World Sport Nimbus, an organization that managed the commercial property of the International Cricket Council at the Cricket World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

When the position of marketing manager at the Titans became available, she successfully applied for the position. She started to work in Centurion in the same year.

She also masterminded the conceptualization and practical implementation of the Momentum eKasi Challenge.

Kambarami holds an MBA from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom, as well as a certificate in sport events and project management from Wits University’s graduate school of business.

She is currently enrolled in a Masters-degree in Sports Law through the De Montfort University in Leicester.

Kambarami has played a significant role in two recent national awards won by the Northerns Cricket Union. Northerns walked away with the spoils as overall incentive scorecard-winner, an initiative conceptualized by Cricket South Africa.

SuperSport Park also received the nod as the No. 1 ranked stadium in the country under Kambarami’s watch in 2015.
