WATCH: Chris Gayle blasts 50 off 12 balls
Updated | By Jacasport
West Indies batting superstar Chris Gayle has smashed the joint-fastest half century in T20 cricket, but unfortunately all in a losing cause.

Gayle clobbered 56 off just 17 deliveries up front, to give the Melbourne Renegades an ideal springboard in persuit of 174 to beat the Adelaide Strikers in their final round robin clash of the Australian Big Bash League in Melbourne.
Gayle's savage 12-ball 50 was chalked up off just 12 balls (2x4's & 7x6's) before he was eventually caught behind by wicketkeeper Tim Luderman off the bowling of Travis Head.
Adelaide Strikers ended top of the preliminary table and will face Sydney Thunder in the semifinals on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval.
