Tennis great John McEnroe has told late night host Jimmy Kimmel he thinks he could beat Serena Williams if they played a “serious match.”

Williams, with 21 Grand Slams to her credit, is attempting to win her fourth Grand Slam title of the year at the U.S. Open next week and is regarded by many to be arguably the greatest women's tennis player ever to have graced the courts.
McEnroe retired in 1992 and is a top tennis analyst.
