Mosiuoa Lekota recently made headlines when he received a standing ovation from a few members in the gallery in Parliament. This comes after he addressed parliament regarding the recent rise in farm attacks.

He joined us this morning and shared exclusively with us a few of his fondest memories of the late Ahmed Kathrada. Having served a jail sentence alongside Kathrada, he spent many years alongside the anti-apartheid activist.

Lekota reflects on the years in prison with Kathrada commenting "I remember when we had now parted, and how I suddenly realised how many things I had learned just working with him."

"I am sad to say that we have really lost one of the South Africans who dedicated his years to service to the people who was self-efacing, never thrusting himself to the front. He would always try to do something to advance the cause," comments Lekota.
