Royals will be safe in SA: Government

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,will arrive in Cape Town on Monday.

Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane has indicated that government has pulled out all the stops to ensure the safety of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

 

 

“Quite a lot of work has been put in place to ensure that those who come to our shores remain safe and can return to their loved ones safely,” said Kubayi-Ngubane.

She welcomed media practitioners from across the world covering the royal couple’s 10-day visit to South Africa on Sunday.

 

 

Prince Harry, Markle and their son, Archie will arrive in Cape Town on Monday.

 

 

Several engagements have been arranged for the royal couple, including a visit to a local township in the Mother City.

 

 

“As government, we are working collaboratively with business and communities and other stakeholders to ensure that all the tourists that visit our country, enjoy a safe and memorable experience,” said Kubayi-Ngubane who hopes that the Royal Highnesses’ trip will boost local tourism.

 

 

“Take a part of South Africa with you as you finish your journey and travel back home so that you can be able to share the nature, the people, the environment – that South Africa is a home away from home,” she said.
