[WATCH] Meghan Markle: Your daughters, sisters, wives, girlfriends are not less than you
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has issued an emotional plea to men and boys to respect women.
“In a world that can seem so aggressive, conformational and dangerous you should know that you have the power to change it,” said Markle.
She made the remarks at the British Trade Commissioner's Residence in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Prince Harry and Markle are bidding South Africa farewell following their official royal visit.
“Visualize your highest self and show up as her – this is the spirit of the women and girls I have met on this trip,” said the Duchess.
Markle believes changing the world for the better begins with how you connect and respect others.
“There is a role for all of us here as women we can listen one another and lift each other up we can raise our boys to be men who value women. And for men and boys, you can lead by example and not let your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, wives or girlfriends feel like that they are lesser than you.”
