Playground Project
Amira’s maternal roots are in South Africa (Potchefstroom), where her late grandmother lived and her mother, Frieda, was born and raised. At the tender age of just seven (7), Amira visited the small township of Ikageng near Potchefstroom where she observed that the children in the area, in her view had “nothing to do, and nowhere to play”. She promptly made a commitment that, should she ever have the opportunity, she would donate funds to help address this situation.
Little did she know then that, her dream would one day come true.
Today the Executive Mayor of Tlokwe City Council together with his Executive Committee, officially launched Amira’s dream Playground Project, where Amira got to experience the equipment together with some of the township children.
This gifted young lady with a big voice, and even bigger heart, has achieved the goal she set herself at seven (7) years old by contributing in her own way to a local and needy community.
