Mandoza's wife launches foundation in his honour
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
It's been a year since musician Mandoza passed away, and his wife launched 'The Mandoza Foundation' while speaking to Martin Bester and Tumi Morake.
Singer and songwriter Mandoza passed away exactly one year ago today.
Mandoza, whose real name was Mduduzi Tshabalala, died at the age of 38, after a two year battle with cancer.
His music was monumental in creating unity through many sporting codes, events and corporate functions. There's no doubt that his hit 'Nkalakatha' became an anthem for many South Africans.
In commemoration of his death, his wife Mpho Tshabalala, launched a non-profit organisation called 'The Mandoza Foundation.' The foundation aims at assisting the less fortunate cancer sufferers as well as to encourge early detection testing for people living in township communities in South Africa.
Take a listen to what she had to say to Martin Bester and Tumi Morake.
Mpho also spoke about Mandoza and recalled the last moments with her late husband and fond memories she shared with him.
