Rikus de Beer recalls the events that led to Radio Raps' inception

Rikus de Beer is the man behind the character we have all come to love, 'Radio Raps'. Breakfast Show hosts Martin Bester and Tumi Morake spoke to him about how his popular alter-ego came about.
'Radio Raps' is a character that has become synonymous with comedy within the Afrikaans entertainment industry.
Over the years, the character has gained a massive, loyal following. This has allowed Rikus to fully invest himself into perfecting his craft.
De Beer has managed to constantly up his game when it comes to skits and comical entertainment - but this did not happen over night.
While speaking to Breakfast Show hosts Martin and Tumi, de Beer shared the moment his hilarious character was born.
"I used to send Whatsapp voice notes to my friends. They eventually started sharing the clips," said de Beer.
