WATCH: Airbnb guests destroy R20 million Camps Bay property

The owner shared a video showing the state in which Airbnb guests left his property.

Airbnb forever changed the way people book places to stay or even discover new destinations when travelling. 

Not only has it minimised the stress of booking an overnight stay, but it's also made the process seamless and efficient.

For property owners and accommodation providers, it has opened up a whole new world of renting out spaces. 

However, there is always a risk involved when letting random people into your property.

One Airbnb owner, Ridhwaan Basa, shared a clip showing the state in which guests left his R20 million Camps Bay property.

Apart from filthy surfaces, unwashed dishes, and stains all over the furniture, there was significant damage to the property. 

This included a completely destroyed stovetop and what appeared to be a pool cue that had been chewed.

"This can be one of the most annoying parts of running an Airbnb business," wrote Basa.

"Luckily, Airbnb has AirCover, through which these damages can be claimed."
