Carstens is known for his evocative and dynamic music, and with this new EP, he continues to forge connections with his deep Afrikaans roots.
The first single from the EP, 'Hoe Gaan Dit', was released earlier this year.
A personal friend who emigrated inspired Carstens to write this unique song.
'Hoe Gaan Dit' delves into the raw emotions and gaps left by friends who have emigrated.
The feeling of longing is captured in the melancholic melodies, where Carstens acknowledges the reasons behind his friend's departure but still mourns the distance it creates.
