TikTok brought us some incredible trends in 2024 — here are the best ones.
Since its launch in 2016, TikTok has taken the world by storm, becoming a go-to social media platform for both creators and consumers.
Over the years, it has delivered some of the most iconic trends and viral moments – and 2024 was no exception.
In its recent 'Year on TikTok 2024: A Little Creativity Sparks a Lot of Impact' report, the platform highlighted the year's standout moments, achievements, and trends.

"Throughout 2024, TikTok continued to redefine how we discover, create, and connect through the shared language of video. From small businesses launching global brands to creators and artists at the forefront of cultural movements, TikTok is a catalyst for economic growth, cultural trends, and social impact.
"We celebrate our global community who have inspired and entertained us this year, as we remain committed to nurturing a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can bring joy, have a unique voice, and a chance to shine," said James Stafford, Global Head of Content, TikTok.
Based on this report, we've identified five of the biggest TikTok trends of 2024:

Megan Boni, known as "Girl on Couch" on TikTok, went viral with a video describing her ideal partner. The video was remixed into a hit song, which garnered over 58 million views. Boni later collaborated with DJ David Guetta, taking the track to the top of the charts.

A dance challenge to Charli XCX’s song 'Apple' went viral, racking up 26.5 million views. The phrase "Brat Summer" was later named Collins' Word of the Year for 2024.
