Blue light brigade a road safety threat to others, says AA

The Automobile Association (AA) has asked for a review of the blue light brigades, as they say these convoys pose a threat to other drivers. Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to Layton Beard from the AA.
According to the Automobile Association, presidential protection unit (PPU) convoys pose a potential safety threat to other motorists.

According to AA, it is in conversation with the Police and Transport Ministers to have the so-called blue light brigades reviewed urgently.

As stated by the AA, any driver who drives recklessly or is careless about the safety of other road users can be held responsible for gross negligence if they endanger property or another person, regardless of whether they are driving a politician, delegate, VIP, or a vehicle with a blue light.

Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to Layton Beard from the AA about the blue light brigades being a safety threat to other drivers.
"The drivers of these vehicles can be very aggressive. They are expecting us to move over but if it is not safe, it can be traumatising and dangerous."
