Cardboard cut-out of ‘fake’ traffic officers spotted in Cape Town
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Ever thought of speeding? Think again because cardboard
cut-outs will stop you in your tracks!
Motorists in Cape Town will find a cop on the side of the road... but it will be a cardboard cut-out, rather than the real thing.
Officials would like to deter speeding by using a creative way of slowing people down on the roads.
Martin Bester said: "It’s bizarre and desperate, but if it works…"
Capetonians took to social media to prove that the cardboard cut-outs of the fake traffic officers are real!
According to Business Tech: "A similar tactic was used in Gauteng in 2017, when Arrive Alive posted pictures to social media of cardboard cut-outs of Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) traffic cars along sections of the N1 and N4 in Gauteng and surrounds."
