On Friday, Jacaranda FM invited a few lucky listeners to spend the morning with us to celebrate the station's 38th birthday with a special Friday Live.

It’s another week of Friday Live, but this time around, it’s extra special.

On Friday, South African rapper Biggy visited the Jacaranda FM head office to perform his single 'Dames' on Friday Live in celebration of the station’s 38th birthday.

To make the morning even more special, we invited a few lucky listeners to spend the morning with Breakfast with Martin Bester and enjoy the live performance.

Jacaranda FM invited 38 listeners who are turning 38 in 2024 to celebrate the 38th birthday.

Breakfast with Martin Bester also had another double Friday Live performance this week.

Musician Jean du Plessis, 24, better known as Jan Bloukaas, visited Breakfast with Martin Bester for a very special Friday Live performance.

Watch here:

The performance comes one day before his "one last night" performance at this year's Melkfest at Idlewild Country Estate in Pretoria.

In September 2022, Du Plessis announced in an Instagram video that he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

After many setbacks and his current series of chemotherapy sessions, the 'Sterre Brand' singer decided to focus on his health and take a break from music and performances.

To make the special visit even bigger, social media star and entrepreneur Malcolm Wentzel surprised Du Plessis in the Jacaranda FM studio by donating R100,000 towards his cancer treatment.

Tune in to the 'Breakfast with Martin Bester', weekdays from 06:00 - 09:00. Stream the show live here or download our mobile app here.
