Chidimma Adetshina was announced as the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria on Saturday, 31 August.
After a controversial run in the Miss South Africa competition, which prompted Chidimma Adetshina to withdraw from the competition, the 23-year-old was invited to take part in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition.
In the end, Adetshina, who was born to a Nigerian father in South Africa, managed to snatch the crown in Lagos on Saturday, 31 August.

"This journey has been a tough journey for me… I am so proud of myself, and I'm really grateful for the love and the support," Adetshina told AFP.
"This is something that I've always wanted, and I'm really glad that I have a second shot as well at achieving it."
Despite the hate she received from South Africans during her time in the Miss SA competition, many South Africans supported her wholeheartedly in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition.
However, the newly crowned Miss Universe Nigeria yet again trended on South African social media when a shocking revelation was made.
X user @destinyzee posted a picture on X of the Miss Nigeria crown, claiming that she spotted a lookalike on the online shopping platform Temu.
According to the post, the crown cost only R76, which is ₦6,786 when converted.
